X-Wind Pro XL app for iPhone and iPad

X-Wind Pro XL is a simple, yet powerful application that computes crosswind, headwind, and tailwind components for takeoff and landing. Designed by an airline pilot, its simple user interface makes it ideal for preflight and in-flight use by pilots of all experience levels.

Simply spin the reel to enter runway, wind direction and velocity. Gust can also be entered, providing a worst-case scenario. As soon as the spinner stops, the runway and wind arrow rotate to provide a graphical display of wind orientation to the runway while also providing a digital display of crosswind and HW/TW. Want to know the wind components for the reciprocal runway? Tapping anywhere on the graphical runway rotates the runway and spinner, while automatically displaying wind data for the new runway. The simplicity of this interface makes it ideal for rapid, single-handed operation on the ground or in-flight.

All data is saved when you exit the application, making it quick and easy to update calculations as conditions change.

X-Wind Pro XL also provides the ability to easily enter yellow caution and red warning values for both crosswind and tailwind, allowing you to customize the app for your aircraft, experience level and currency. If the crosswind and/or tailwind are above the value you set, they are automatically displayed in the appropriate color to provide an instant alert.

Crosswind and tailwind components are rounded up while headwind components are rounded down, providing worst-case data for performance calculations.

Display intensity can be adjusted from within the app allowing quick and easy adjustment for day or night viewing conditions.

Supports both portrait and landscape orientations.
